SWA Luncheon Seminar - The Future of Health and Safety
On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, the Sealant and Waterproofing Association presented a luncheon seminar at The School Restaurant in Unionville entitled, “The Future of Health and Safety –Are You Ready?” The seminar was presented by Rob Gilligan (B.Sc.) and Doug Foster (B.A., M. Sc.) who together illustrated the relationship between the ‘audit’ element of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) and the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS). Over 50 people attended the seminar.
Highlights of the presentation included:
1. Definition of ‘COR’ and the ‘HSMS’
2. Procedure to follow in order to achieve “COR” designation
3. ‘HSMS’ and the ‘COR’ audit function
4. The financial effect on the ‘bottom line’ – (price & cost of COR/HSMS)
5. Maintenance of ‘HSMS’ and ‘COR’
